Software that fits the way your operations actually work.

CodeAstra designs and builds custom software, integrates AI into real workflows, and connects the systems your teams depend on.

We work best where the process is complex, the requirements are not obvious on day one, and off-the-shelf software does not quite fit.

01 / The problem

For work that is too important for a workaround

REGISTERREGISTERSSPREADSHEETSRE: RE: FW:EMAIL THREADSLEGACY APPLICATIONPAPER FORMSMANUAL HAND-OFFSREPORTS WAITPEOPLE BECOME THE INTEGRATION LAYERcopying · re-keying · remembering

Critical operations often grow around spreadsheets, registers, email threads, paper forms, legacy applications and manual hand-offs. Over time, people become the integration layer. Information gets copied between systems. Reviews depend on memory. Reports take longer than they should.

Adding AI to that environment without understanding the workflow usually creates another layer of complexity.

Where we begin

We start with the operation. We learn the users, rules, exceptions, data and systems involved. Then we decide what should be digitized, what should be integrated, and where AI can genuinely help.

02 / Services

What we do

Six capabilities · one assembly

AI Integration & Automation

Put AI inside a defined business workflow for document processing, knowledge search, reporting, classification, assisted decision-making and repetitive information work — with the controls required for production use.

Embedded AI Engineering

For problems that cannot be fully specified up front. We work close to users and domain experts, turn ambiguity into working software, validate the solution in context, and carry the useful parts toward production.

Operational Workflow Digitization

Replace paper registers, spreadsheets and informal approvals with role-aware, auditable operational software designed around the way the work actually happens.

Product Engineering & Technology Partnership

Build a product from zero, extend an existing application, or work with CodeAstra as a long-term engineering partner responsible for architecture, product evolution, maintenance and production ownership.

System Integration & API Engineering

Connect applications through reliable APIs and event flows with explicit ownership, authentication, retries, reconciliation, observability and support tooling.

AI Enablement & Training

Practical AI education for leaders, operations teams and developers, focused on useful workflows, verification, safety and adoption — not generic prompt tricks.

03 / Approach

AI, without the theatre

AI is useful when it shortens a real task, makes information easier to find, reduces repetitive work, or helps a person make a better decision. It is not useful simply because a model can be added to a screen.

Our AI work is designed around production constraints: data access, permissions, evaluation, human review, traceability, latency, cost, failure modes and support. Where a deterministic rule or conventional workflow is more reliable than AI, we use the conventional rule.

What does CodeAstra do?

CodeAstra is a software engineering and AI integration company that builds custom applications, digitizes operational workflows, connects existing systems, and deploys AI where it can create measurable value in day-to-day work.

04 / Fit

Built for operational complexity

We are most useful when software has to model more than simple data entry:

  • Multiple user roles and organizational hierarchies
  • Approvals, acknowledgements and audit history
  • Field users and low-connectivity environments
  • Legacy or neighboring systems that must exchange data
  • Complex state transitions and exceptions
  • Long-lived products that need continuous technical stewardship
  • AI that needs human review and traceable source data

05 / Method

From field problem to maintainable system

  1. Step 01

    Understand the operation.

Learn the people, rules, data, exceptions and existing systems.

  2. Step 02

    Choose the smallest valuable intervention.

A workflow, integration, prototype or product increment.

  3. Step 03

    Build with real users.

Working software exposes misunderstandings earlier than long requirement documents.

  4. Step 04

    Engineer for production.

Security, auditability, failure handling, performance, observability and maintainability.

  5. Step 05

    Support adoption and evolution.

Training, rollout, monitoring, feedback and continued product development.

07 / Academy

We started by teaching engineers.

CodeAstra began with developer education, helping people learn full-stack software development using Ruby on Rails. That teaching DNA continues today through AI enablement, technical mentoring and experiments in better ways to learn software engineering.

08 / Next step

Have a workflow that has outgrown the workaround?

Tell us how the work happens today. We can help determine whether the useful next step is a custom application, an integration, an AI pilot, or a focused discovery exercise.
